Privacy policy
Last updated 7 November 2026
Using AI Well (“we”, “us”) is an Australian business based in Victoria. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The short version: we collect only what we need to run your account and track your learning. We don’t sell your information or show you ads.
What we collect
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name you’d like us to use | To greet you and personalise the site. |
| Email address | To log you in, confirm your account, reset your password, and contact you about your account. |
| Password | To log you in. It’s stored in scrambled (hashed) form by our login provider; we can never see it. |
| Learning progress (which lessons and slides you’ve reached) | So you can pick up where you left off on any device. |
| Device and login records (browser type, e.g. “Safari on iPhone”, and when it was last active) | To keep your account secure and apply the limit of 2 devices at once. |
| Feedback you send, plus the page you were on and your browser type | To understand and fix problems and improve the course. |
| Invite code used to join | To manage access during the beta. |
| Payment records (once payments start) | To give you access after you pay. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. |
What we don’t collect: text you type into lesson activities stays on your own device and isn’t sent to us. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Cookies and storage on your device
We use your browser’s storage to keep you logged in, remember your light/dark preference, and save your progress so the site works smoothly and offline. These are essential for the site to work. We don’t use them to track you across other websites.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site. They process your information only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: stores accounts, progress and feedback (servers in Sydney, Australia).
- Cloudflare: hosts the website and runs our server code. It may process requests outside Australia.
- Stripe: processes payments once payments start. It may process data outside Australia.
- An email delivery service: sends account emails such as confirmations and password resets.
Some of these services may store or process information overseas (for example in the United States). We choose providers with strong security and privacy practices. We will only otherwise share your information if the law requires it.
How we protect it
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our database only lets each person see their own records, passwords are hashed, and access to our admin tools is restricted and protected by two-factor login. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. If you delete your account, your account, name, progress and device records are deleted straight away. Feedback you sent is kept without your name or email attached. Payment records may be kept longer where the law requires (for example, for tax).
Your choices and rights
- See or correct your information: change your name on the Account page, or email us.
- Delete your account at any time from the Account page.
- Ask a question or complain: email usingaiwell.help@gmail.com. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Age
Using AI Well is intended for people aged 16 and over.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we’ll update the date at the top and let account holders know by email or on the site.
